"Getting to know God the Son"
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." John 3:16
We just Identified God the Father as the Creator. Now watch this:
"He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." John 1:2
"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God...for by Him all things were created that are in the heaven and on the earth, visible and invisible...all things were created through Him and for Him." Colossians 1:15-16
Prior to His incarnation, Jesus was in spirit form and the Father created the universe through Him. Probably most people do not know this.
The second work of Jesus is found in these verses:
"I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep...No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down and I have power to take it back again. This command I have received from My Father." John 10:11, 17-18
As an obedient Son, Jesus became man, laid down His life on the cross by bearing the guilt and punishment for every person's sins who would ever live, and then rose victoriously from the dead. The second work of Jesus found here is that He is the sinner's Savior.
How important is it to believe this and accept the gift of forgiveness He provides?
"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, but he who does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him." John 3:36
Salvation costs you nothing, but it cost Jesus everything. Please, don't let another second pass without accepting Him as your Savior.
